Karen Holik
Karen began participating in dog agility in 1992 when she started training her Chow/Sheltie mix. She loves training dogs of all motivation levels and her successes with many breeds demonstrate her effectiveness. She believes that all dogs can be taught to run to their full potential and agility should be a team sport and fun for the dog at all times. She believes the most important aspects of agility training are teaching the fundamentals and being consistent with your handling at all times.
Karen currently owns 5 dogs, including three Shelties and two Border Collies. Her first dog (a Chow/Sheltie mix) became her first to receive the ADCH title in USDAA. She has also achieved this title with two of her shelties and her border collie. Karen’s consistency and ability to adapt her handling to various breeds and motivation levels can be seen by qualifying for the USDAA World Championships, and further proven by competing in the Finals over a dozen times with her shelties and border collie.
Her most recent accomplishments have been with ADCh MACh5 Triune’s Feelin Hot Hot Hot “Sizzle.” Together, Karen and Sizzle have been members of the AKC/USA World Team seven times (France-2003, Spain-2005, Switzerland-2006, Norway-2007, Finland-2008, Austria-2009 and Germany-2010). In September of 2009, she along with her teammates Jennifer Crank and Ashley Deacon won the Silver Medal at the FCI World Championship in Dornbirn, Austria. Sizzle is also a four-time USDAA World Champion, taking that honor twice in the Steeplechase event, once in the Grand Prix of Dog Agility and also the Dog Agility Masters Team Tournament. Her youngest sheltie, Plail’s Chill Factor “Ice,” has just started his competitive career and is sure to soon have his own list of accomplishments. Her new border collie “Siren” is just learning to be a puppy. Karen teaches private/group lessons and also travels the United States, as well as Puerto Rico, Bermuda, Mexico and Costa Rica, giving seminars.

Ann Braue
Ann made her agility debut in April 2002 after 10 years in the competition obedience ring. She rose quickly to compete at the National and World level. Ann has competed internationally six times; four for the AKC World Team at the FCI Agility World Championships and twice as the USA Crufts representative. Ann is the only handler who has represented the AKC/USA at Crufts with two different dogs. In 2007, she along with her teammates Linda Mecklenburg and Carrie Jones won the silver medal at the FCI World Championships in Hamar, Norway. Ann has competed the finals of many national events. She is a five time USDAA National Champion winning the $10,000 Steeplechase three times, the Dog Agility Masters Team Tournament once and the Grand Prix of Dog Agility once.
Ann is highly sought after as a private instructor and seminar presenter. Her gift of teaching is combined with passion, creativity and motivation provides a fun and rewarding environment for both the dog and the handler. Ann’s training philosophy focuses on positive reinforcement and building a strong relationship with the dog while at all times maintaining consistency.
Ann currently owns four border collies and several cats. She resides in Eau Claire, Wisconsin with her husband Mark.
